Welcome to the Parent Learning Series (PLS)

(formerly known as The Parent Summit)

The High School Parent Summit has become a mainstay in the post-high school planning experience for thousands of PWCS parents. We are taking the content previously shared at the Parent Summit and adding even more content to the new Parent Learning Series! The goal of the Parent Learning Series (PLS) is to continue helping families learn how to support their students as they navigate high school and beyond. Content will be delivered to parents through a select number of synchronous (live) Zoom webinars as well as asynchronous (recorded) on-demand sessions delivered through the Canvas platform. The asynchronous (recorded) PLS sessions that will be viewable on-demand in Canvas will by become available January through spring.  Parents will be able to view as many sessions as desired at a time convenient to their schedule.  Directions for accessing PLS sessions and recorded webinars are included below.

To participate in the Parent Learning Series sessions, you will need to do the following: 

1. Beginning in December, please check this page periodically as presentation sessions and webinar dates will be provided as they become available.  Sessions will also be advertised in The Scoop newsletter. 
2. For synchronous (live) sessions:
   1. Navigate to this page;
   2. Register for webinar Zoom sessions listed in the box below.
   3. You will receive a follow-up email with a link to join the session;
   4. Join the session on the designated date and time.
3.  For asynchronous (recorded) sessions: 
   1. Click the Parent Learning Series Course Link (link is currently inactive);
   2. Log in with your student's PWCS Office 365 account and password, or your own Parent observer Canvas account.  The PLS course will automatically download to the student's Dashboard in Canvas and will be viewable as one of the student's courses;
   3. Access the course and choose your session;
   4. After watching the session, complete the post-session survey.

When logging back into Canvas, parents will be able to access the course either through their student's Canvas account, or through their parent Canvas account.
